A Brief Description of Haysi, VA

Haysi,Virginia is surrounded by the scenic Appalachian Mountains with a clear view of the historic Cumberland Mountain range. The primary waterways of the county are the Russell Fork and McClure Rivers and Prater Creek flowing from the east. For those who wish to enjoy outdoor recreation, Haysi is a gateway to the Breaks Interstate Park and the John Flannagan Dam & Reservoir. Trout fishing can be enjoyed in streams that are stocked regularly by the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. John Flannagan Lake provides boating and fishing for the larger "catch" such as bass and catfish.
